Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! Peter and Mandy had our family for Christmas and TOTALLY spoiled us with "Grandpa and Grandma Bird's Christmas Eve Party-in-a-Box." It was such a fun night and made us feel closer to home for the holidays. Mandy and Daunelle made these adorable costumes and many more; we opened the package early on the morning of Christmas Eve and the kids spent much of the morning trying all the different costumes on and deciding who would be who for the Nativity enactment that night. It was such a fun day and a wonderful night. We now have a wonderful tradition for all the years to come. Thanks again Pete and Mandy and Daunelle. ...the sheep is too cute for words :). --I'll put more pictures to the right in a slideshow.

Ian's First Birthday

I'm going to put a slideshow of Ian eating his first birthday cake to the right. Ian is such a happy fun kid. He melts all of our hearts and has us all wrapped around his little finger... probably why he is still not walking on his own... he's a tease, loves attention, and is always looking for someone who will pick him up instead of walking on his own.

Halloween... I know that was a long time ago

I know it's been a long time since Halloween, but today I'm finally getting to updating our blog with a few of our most recent pictures. In case you can't tell, Clarke was a Pirate, with a strong resemblance to Jack Sparrow, Dara was Little Red Riding Hood, Reese was Anakin when he was a good guy, and Jada was Snow White.

Seventh Grade Football

Here Clarke is lined up on the outside left (right side of the picture) as tight end, going out for a pass. He caught one touchdown pass this season, but unfortunately spent most of his time blocking for a nearly all running team.

Clarke, 88, is lined up on the outside right of that line as tight end. He was able to start in that position all year, which was a goal he set for himself at the beginning of the season, and although he spent all season waiting for some big plays to come his way, he spent most of his time blocking for the run... but he still loves it and looks forward to next year.
